Education
I gained a Bachelors in History specialising in European history (classical Greece & Rome) from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand in 1998. I also hold a TEFL certificate to teach English as a foreign language, gained in Ireland, 2002. My CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) was obtained in London in 2017.
Experience
I have over 10 years experience of teaching English to foreign students of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, from South Korea, Shanghai, China to hosting students in my home in London, UK, to Paris and now here in Milan. I have taught IELTS, TOEIC and TOEFL preparation classes, business English and general English focussing on the core skills: reading, writing, listening and especially speaking. I am very easy-going and due to my cross-cultural experience I can make students feel relaxed and quickly build a rapport with them to help increase their confidence and understanding.

Hobbies
I have a number of hobbies including but not limited to the following: travelling, I have lived and worked in 10 countries from the UK/France to Australia/New Zealand and Korea/China. I love trying new cuisines and am always exploring and learning about different kinds of food and dishes from all around the world, I enjoy cooking too. I love reading: novels to non-fiction and global politics. When I am in the mood I also like to dabble with writing short stories of my own.
